Culture at Nestle Philippines

8.8
8.8 rating for Culture, based on 49 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
During office hours, our department takes our job seriously. I have not seen anyone just lazying around. They try to hear out and value each other's input, even the thoughts of an intern. After office hours, they respect everyone's personal time.

For my department, we are managing to stay positive and happy even though we all know that we are facing tough days most of the times.

For my colleagues here at Nestle, being in operations has needed them to be available 24/7 as their job requires them to, but as much as possible, Nestle tries to strictly implement a 9-hour work schedule and 3-day onsite work setup. Structure and hierarchy-wise, people try to make sure that there are no gaps in power when it comes to being able to communicate your thoughts and ideas. For younger people such as I, however, it has been a little difficult to blend in due to my age difference compared to my colleagues who are ranging from their 30s to 50s.

My relationship with my team is respectful, supportive, and kind. They are interested in accommodating to my goals by providing me with as much learning opportunities as possible.

The company culture is very collaborative when it comes to all projects. We usually have project alignment meetings wherein we discuss the specific objectives and project that we need to handle indicidually and as a team.

As I mentioned in the past section, the company culture is not the same across different teams/functions. However, everyone is professional and nice. After hours, of course without the pressures of work, everyone is a bit more fun. In terms of structure and hierarchy, the many different people to report to sometimes make it bureaucratic and slows down decision-making. As for cooperation and teamwork, everyone, out of professionalism, does their best to pull their weight and ensure that projects go on smoothly. I believe what is lacking is an opportunity for Nestle employees to socialize with one another outside of their teams/departments.
Intern, Makati City - 26 Jul 2024
Working Hours: Everyone is productive. There is teamwork and cooperation that is very evident during cutoff. I've noticed that they are very connected and close even if you're from another department. After Office: Everyone is working till past 12 mn, also during weekends and holiday.

The company prioritizes thr work-and-life balance of the employees. Although there are really busy times where people have to work harder than the normal work days. Nevertheless our people managers are still there to check up on us

My team is very approachable and kind when I ask questions or help. They always allow me to speak up and work at my own pace. They do not force me to do overtime or work during the weekends. I have made a lot of great connections with other teams as they are also kind and warm.

NBS is a very active promoter of Work-Life balance. I'd say the culture is very open with our 'bosses' being leaders who are very approachable and supportive. Teams are very collaborative and most have the dynamics which are that of a family. There is diversity and inclusivity in the workforce and it is highly valued and supported. The company also supports social events and activities year long as it adds to employee satisfaction. All in all, the company has a healthy culture where one will feel seen and will be able to grow with the team and individually as well.

The team I currently work with is called the Transport Team/HUB or "T-Hub" for short. There is harmony in our team, and everyone is free to voice out their concerns no matter their age or gender. In our team, teamwork and communication is our holy grail. Without it, our operation would collapse.

During office hours, everyone is focused on their tasks and deliverables. When I need a sounding board for my ideas, I would turn to my fellow intern/s. When I complete my tasks, I typically report to my manager on the status and get approval where applicable. They would give me feedback, and I clarify if something is unclear. I occasionally get to talk to other employees when my tasks require their expertise. For the most part, I socialize with my fellow interns.

I love the culture and people Nestle surrounds itself with. They are caring, understanding, and most importantly, do not belittle others. They strive in growing together and aiming to achieve identical goals
Intern, Makati City - 23 Jul 2024
The company's culture is really understanding and uplifting for everyone to learn and improve themselves and their process. The company respects the time of employees especially after working hours.

My team and I have built a very good relationship with each other. Although we are well-aware of the roles we play in the office, at the end of the day, we still come together as friends. The 9/10 rating roots from an observation and experience I have had from other employees outside my team. It was a bit of a shock how some employees at MAO has a certain attitude, which can be really comparable to what I see from my team and from the factories I visited.
Intern, Makati City - 20 Jul 2024
The presence of foreign employees illustrates the dedication of Nestle to diversity. The reason for a mediocre score on culture is because of the unhealthy habit of taking too much OT. Taking too much OT remains to be perceived as being a dedicated worker instead of being exploited.

The culture in the office at NBS is very relaxed, there is no seniority and is a fairly flat organization. People can approach anyone, even the stream lead. Teams tend to support each other and can sometimes lend support to other teams as needed as well. More often than not, during lunch breaks, teams tend to stay together and eat and also socialize with each other while working.

In our business unit, sometimes there are decisions and tasks assigned to us that I think are not relevant. We also aren’t being listened to. I dont feel a genuine relationship with other colleagues, except with my supervisor and teammates.

There are still very traditional individuals and/or leads that like working in a very traditional way (working beyond office hours, not placing too much value on mental and physiological health).
Graduate, Meycauayan - 16 Jul 2024
Everyone is extremely friendly, open, and nice in my department.
