About the Fellowship Program
It is a two-year leadership development program where promising Filipinos who are passionate about building the nation through education develop themselves as transformational teachers and leaders who improve student learning outcomes, spark positive changes in public school communities, and contribute to education reform. Teacher Fellows are physically deployed to one public school for two years.
Roles and Responsibilities of a Teacher Fellow
- Teaches DepEd subjects as assigned by School Head/Principal
- Teaches literacy, numeracy, and life skills through TFP's Tara, Kaya! Program
- Engages with public and private stakeholders in the community
- Participates in personal and professional development opportunities
- Plans and executes a community engagement project through TFP's COMET Program during their second year in the Fellowship
๏ปฟBenefits of a Teacher Fellow
Through the Fellowship Program, a Teacher Fellow gets access to a two-year leadership development opportunity that offers:
Compensation
- A monthly salary of Php 25,000 on the first year, subject to applicable taxes and deductions, and inclusive of a monthly chalk allowance of Php 3,000 and a monthly communication allowance of Php 1,000
- A monthly salary of Php 28,000 on the second year, subject to applicable taxes and deductions, and inclusive of a monthly chalk allowance of Php 3,000 and a monthly communication allowance of Php 1,000
Support
- A one-time uniform allowance of Php 6,000 at the start of the first school year in the program
- Optional relocation assistance up to Php 15,000, which may be repaid on a 6-month, 12-month, or 18-month basis
- Annual medical reimbursement up to Php 5,000 and opt-in/self-pay HMO
- 18 Education units from a partner university paid for by TFP (for non-Education graduates)
- Eligibility to take the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (for non-Education graduates)
- 2-year opportunity to work with public school communities and DepEd partners across the Philippines
- 550+ hours of training and individualized coaching over the course of two years
- Access to well-being training, resources, and psychosocial services through TFPs in-house Human Development Manager and partner psychosocial service provider
- A holistic professional development program to develop one's leadership potential
- A culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and collaboration
- Continued involvement in the movement for education reform even beyond the two-year program
๏ปฟBasic Qualifications
- Filipino Citizenship
- Bachelor's Degree (any program)
- Competent English and Filipino Skills (Oral and Written)
- Organizational and Leadership Experience
- Formal or Informal Teaching Experience
- Willing to join a two-month pre-service training and be deployed in a public school community anywhere in the Philippines for two years
