Teach for the Philippines (TFP) is a for-purpose, non-stock, non-profit organization that works to ensure all Filipino children will benefit from an inclusive, relevant, and excellent education. Teach for the Philippines helps improve the Philippine public school system by developing leaders with a deep understanding of the system as well as the drive and commitment to work towards meaningful and positive change.
One of the organization's core programs is the Fellowship Program - a two-year leadership development program where young Filipinos who are passionate about nation-building through education are developed to become teachers who can significantly improve student learning outcomes, and leaders who can spark positive changes in public school communities across the Philippines and contribute to education reform. Successful candidates are assigned to public schools as full-time, fully-paid Teacher Fellows for two years.
Along with intensive training, as well as personalized coaching and mentoring, the transformative experience of working for and with our students and communities provide Teacher Fellows with a deep understanding of the public school and the role that they play in shaping our country's future.
TFP aims to build a diverse and inclusive community of leaders. Therefore, admission is a multi-step process that evaluates not only academic and professional achievement, but also drive, resilience, a sense of civic responsibility, and alignment with our Core Values. Furthermore, our admissions process is designed to help aspiring Teacher Fellows gain a deeper understanding of the work we do at Teach for the Philippines. Candidates will undergo virtual selection activities that will help them gain a better understanding of the organization's Vision, Mission, Core Values, and the commitment the Fellowship Program requires.
